PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor containing an arylidene derivative excellent in charge transfer property in a photosensitive layer, having high sensitivity, low residual potential, excellent electrification performance and excellent characteristics for repeated use, and to provide an image forming device free from image fog even when images are repeatedly formed. SOLUTION: An arylidene derivative expressed by general formula (1) is incorporated into a photosensitive layer of the electrophotographic photoreceptor to be used in the image forming device. In formula (1), R<SP>1</SP>represents a halogen atom, alkyl group, alkoxy group, aryl group, aralkyl group, alkylthio group or residue to form a ring, R<SP>2</SP>represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group, each of R<SP>3</SP>and R<SP>4</SP>represents a cyano group or an alkoxycarbonyl group, X represents a condensed polycyclic hydrocarbon, m represents an integer of 0 to 5, and when m is≥2, a plurality of R<SP>1</SP>may be same or different.
