<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic calibration method for a camera which does not require all cameras to share a reference camera and observation, and makes capable of utilizing for estimation of position and posture of camera even for local observation not shared by the reference camera. <P>SOLUTION: In the automatic calibration method for cameras in a system provided with a plurality of cameras, self positions and posture estimation values of the cameras are renewed for each camera based on observation information shared with the surrounding cameras and the present positions and the posture estimation values of surrounding cameras. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
