The pump (1) has a rotary motor (4) with a drive system (5) giving the piston (3) a simultaneous rotary and reciprocating motion. The piston has a cut-away end (6) so that the inlet port (8) is uncovered as the piston moves back and the outlet port (10) is uncovered as the piston moves forward. The inlet and outlet ports are in line and at right-angles to the axis of the cylinder (2).
