PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preservation treatment of wood wherein a wood protecting layer is formed in a wide range reaching the deep part in the wood by using a simple chemical treatment device without necessitating a drying process of the wood. SOLUTION: One butt end of a wood with a high water content such as green wood is immersed in a solution of a wood preserving agent in a simple chemical treatment tank and moisture is transpired while a portion of the wood ranging from the surface of the solution to the other butt end is exposed to the air. Thereby a negative pressure is generated in the texture of the wood and the wood preserving agent is made to penetrate extensively into the deep part of the wood, with the pressure acting as a driving force; so the wood protecting layer is formed. By conducting barking or incising as occasion demands, moreover, it is made possible to complete fast this method for preservation treatment of the wood. When a solution of the wood preserving agent prepared by dissolving the agent in a water-insoluble nonpolar solvent is used, the chemical agent can penetrate into the whole of the treated wood without absorption of an excessive chemical liquid by taking out the treated wood in the course of the immersion treatment and causing the moisture in the wood to be further transpired.
