PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drag apparatus of a reel for fishing reducing the extent of a protruded regulating knob in the drag apparatus and miniaturizing the whole reel. SOLUTION: The drag apparatus 20 of the reel for fishing is obtained by rotatably supporting a spool 5 for winding a fishing line on a supporting shaft 9 supported on a reel body 2, installing a brake plate 41 composing the drag apparatus 20 for applying brake force to the rotation of the spool 5 and screwing the regulating knob 30 regulating the brake force by pushing the brake plate 41 onto the tip of the supporting shaft 9. A housing recessed part 35 is formed on the inside of the regulating knob 30 and at least a part of a slackness preventing apparatus 50 for applying resistance force to the rotative direction of the regulating knob 30 in the housing recessed part 35.
