PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily visualize a strain so as to be capable of directly assessing the improved designation of the quality of a strain estimate value and more wholly showing the detailedness of strain in relation to a concrete tissue region. SOLUTION: In a method for describing spectrum strain and an apparatus therefor, a strain spectrum is formed and displayed corresponding to the deformation of a tissue structure designated in the sample gate (146) in a subject in response to the Doppler signal generated by a diagnostic ultrasonic system (5). Some processing techniques including spectrum estimate processors (270 and 310) such as discrete Fourier transform (DFT) processing or the like, a circulation convolution device (230), signal scale conversion/standardization devices (240, 280 and 320) and a complex self-correlation device (290) are variously combined to be utilized.
