PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera serving as a mouse which enables the user to select and use a mouse function, a camera function, and a memory card reader function by mode switching. SOLUTION: This digital camera is equipped with a switching operation means to a mouse mode and a control means which shifts a photographing lens 14 to a certain pint position by the setting operation to a mouse mode and also operates an image sensor continuously and computes the shifting direction and shifting distance of the camera body 12 by comparing the patterns of images obtained in order and switches an operation button for a digital camera provided in the camera body 12 into a click button in a mouse. Furthermore, this is provided with an output means which outputs the shifting data of the camera body 12 and the operation signal of the click button obtained from this control means to an external apparatus.
