Method for prolonged storage of DNA molecules and packaging implementing said method

A process for the long-term preservation of DNA molecules comprises extracting and purifying the DNA and then encapsulating the DNA molecules in a sealed corrosion proof metallic capsule. The encapsulation occurs under anoxic and dehumidified conditions. Also described is the preservative packaging obtained by the process wherein it is constitutes a capsule of malleable metal or metallic alloy and having corrosion-proof and non-contaminating properties.
