PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synchronous machine which enables reduction in manufacturing cost, without impairing the magnetic properties by making the stator structure in correspondence with the number of poles of the synchronous machine. SOLUTION: The synchronous machine of six or more poles (four poles or less) uses a plurality of stator sheets with teeth, on which stator coils are wound. The stator sheets are laminated and fastened in the direction of thickness. The synchronous machine is constructed with a yoke constituting the stator and the teeth being cut out integrally of oriented magnetic steel sheets. Further, the easy magnetization axis of the oriented magnetic steel sheets constituting the yoke and the teeth is in the direction of radius (the direction of circumference) of the stators.
