<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the satisfied recording quality even though the environmental temperature is changed, in a device for recording and reproducing information to/from a phase change type optical recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The temperature of the optical recording means 101 is measured by a temperature sensor 110 and a sensor circuit 111. In accordance with the measured temperature, the influence due to the change of environmental temperature is compensated by a system controller 115 in such a manner that a driving current of a laser diode in an optical pickup 102 is controlled by a laser controller 109 and the recording power and/or the erase power of laser beams with which the optical recording medium 101 is irradiated are changed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
