PURPOSE: A structure for position aligning of substrates in a substrate joining device for a liquid crystal display device is provided to improve the precision in the position alignment of substrates to be joined by carrying out the position alignment by cell unit. CONSTITUTION: A structure for position aligning of substrates in a substrate joining device for a liquid crystal display device includes first and second substrates(510,520) formed with align marks for position alignment at dummy areas adjacent to cell areas, a vacuum chamber(110) for carrying out the substrate joining process inside and formed with a viewing hole(110a), upper and lower stages(121,122) respectively mounted in upper and lower spaces in the vacuum chamber for fixing each other, the upper stage being formed with a plurality of viewing holes(121a) at portions corresponding to the align marks, and align cameras(200) mounted movably on the vacuum chamber to check the align marks via the viewing holes to carry out the position alignment.
