摘要 The present invention is directed to a method for the preparation of an optical waveguide device including a waveguide structure comprising at least one organic polymer material on a substrate, characterized in that the waveguide structure is partially or fully exposed to energy-rich irradiation sufficient io to provide a change of the value of its refractive index, after the preparation of said structure has been completed. By this method, the original central wavelength of the waveguide structure is shifted. Further, such an irradiation may be used for shifting the central wavelength of optical waveguide devices of already prepared and even used devices.
