PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater controlling the water supply to a heating tank without lowering the delivery hot water temperature. SOLUTION: This water heater is provided with a heating unit 4 having the heating tank 6 of water, a water supply valve 8 provided in a water supply passage to the heating tank 6, and a pump 14 delivering the hot water in the heating tank 6. This water heater can suppress the lowering of the delivery hot water temperature due to water supply during the delivery by forcibly stopping the pump 14 and supplying the water to the heating tank 6, when the amount of the hot water stored in the heating tank 6 becomes less than a prescribed amount in the delivery during operation of the pump 14.
