PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new powder dispersion including a further amount of nanoparticles (an inorganic sunscreen agent) in a topical or a cosmetic composition, especially a pressed powder composition and sufficiently affording a product having a high sun protection factor (SPF) value without conventional negative side effects, e.g. dustiness, grittiness, dryness and gloss. SOLUTION: The absorbing powder comprising the powder dispersion is prepared by absorbing nanoparticles useful for providing sunscreen protection. The absorbing powder comprising the nanoparticles is incorporated in the topical or cosmetic composition, especially the pressed powder composition.
