PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool for opening an ampoule, by which the ampoule can be opened safely and easily by a simple method. SOLUTION: A force F is applied to a press member 6 to apply energy working toward a receiving member 4 to it. This operation can be done by an operator using only one hand and tilts the press member 6 on a hinge 6a from a retreat position illustrated by a continuous line. When the force F acting on the press member 6 grows to surpass a certain level of strength, a head AH is snapped off from the ampoule AP. After that, the press member 6 is further pressed toward the receiving member 4 to grip the snapped head AH between the press member 6 and the receiving member 4. In this state, the tool 10 is lifted to lift the gripped head AH along with it, leaving a body AB, which is opened, on a pedestal. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
