PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive in-tank type fuel pump that stands corrosive fuel which is composed mainly of gasoline or alcohol or mixture of the gasoline with alcohol, to implement safe structure in which worn powders generated from a motor brush is not mixed into the fuel, and also to implement high degree of freedom of a fuel pump installation position. SOLUTION: Driving force of the motor is transmitted to a fuel pump portion by a magnet coupling to prevent the fuel from entering into the motor. Therefore, the fuel does not enter an inside of the motor to prevent mixing of the worn powders generated from the motor blush into the fuel. The motor is protected from the corrosive fuel, and an inexpensive general-purpose motor can be applied to the pump. Further, by connecting the magnet coupling with a pump portion by a power transmission mechanism such as a shaft and a universal joint, the pump portion is installed at an arbitrary position in a fuel tank.
