PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allows an image processor to perform other data processing simultaneously in parallel without impeding processing for image input, image output, etc., using an image data bus and to shorten the total processing time of the image processor. SOLUTION: Time is subdivided and the image data bus is used in the divided time units according to priority. An image input part (IIT) and an image output part (IOT) which have fixed operating speeds preferentially use the bus and a compressor expander whose operation speed is not fixed uses the bus when neither the image input part nor the image output part uses the bus. Consequently, a request signal for image data bus use is always accepted and the image data bus is usable without being made idle, thus simultaneous parallel processing can be performed to shorten the total processing time.
