PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant resin composition which is of a nonhalogen type, environmentally friendly, safe and stable and excels in low metal corrosiveness and resistance to insulation resistance in normal tempera ture, high temperature or long-term use. SOLUTION: The flame-retardant resin composition comprises (A) a thermoplastic resin, (B) a stabilized red phosphorus, and (C) a compound having a normal electrode potential at 25 deg.C in an aqueous solution system of >=+0.4 V.
