PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyimide film whereby the drying time of the film can be shortened. SOLUTION: The method comprises at least uniaxially orienting a gel-like film obtained from a solution based on a polyamic acid, an organic amine compound, and a dehydratively condensing agent, drying the film at the initial temperature of 200-400°C under restrain, and heat-treating the resultant film.
