FAILURE JUDGING DEVICE FOR THROTTLE VALVE ANGLE SENSING SYSTEM OF INTERNAL-COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure judging device for a throttle valve angle sensing system which judges any failure accurately while a misjudgement during the operation with part of cylinders resting is avoided. SOLUTION: The failure judging device 1 is to judge any failure in the throttle angle sensing system 7 of the internal-combustion engine 3 for working in changing-over between the full cylinder operation in which all cylinders are put in operation and the partial cylinder resting operation in which part of the cylinders is/are put resting and for sensing the opening/closing condition of the throttle valve 6 installed on a suction pipe 5. The device is also equipped with: an intra-pipe pressure sensing means 9 for the suction pipe to sense the pressure in the downstream of the throttle valve 6; a failure judging means 2 to judge any failure in the low-opening side characteristics of the throttle valve angle sensing system 7 on the basis of the sensed intra-pipe pressure PBA, an operating condition judging means 2 to judge whether the engine 3 is in the partial cylinder resting operation or not; and a judgement prohibiting means 2 to prohibit failure judgement when the result from judgement is as the partial cylinder resting operation.
