PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader that takes countermeasures to prevent a white paper correction fluid and foreign matters such as paper powder caused by untangled original paper sheets from depositing on a slit exposure glass plate in an original moving read mode and to provide an image forming device using the image reader. SOLUTION: The image reader having an original guide roller rotating on the slit exposure glass plate at an image read position is characterized in the provision of a member forming a prescribed gap between the slit exposure glass plate and the original guide roller static charged.
