PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always accurately cut a gate at the boundary of the gate and a molded article even if there is an irregularity in the dimension of the molded article. SOLUTION: A gate cutter is constituted so as to cut the gate 2 protruding from the gate connection surface 3 of a polymer molded article 1 by an upper blade 13 and a lower blade 14. This gate cutter is provided with a standby displacing device 22 for displacing the polymer molded article 1 from a standby state, wherein the lower blade 14 is provided at the position approaching the gate 2 and separated from the surface part 1a of the polymer molded article 1 appearing on the gate connection surface 3 in an almost perpendicular direction, to an aligning state wherein the lower blade 14 comes into contact with the surface part 1a of the molded article 1.
