The invention relates to a storage container for bulk material (7), such as a silo (1). The storage container comprises a drainage device with a drainage system (9,13) provided at the bottom of the storage container. The drainage device also comprises suction means (17) which are connected to the drainage system for generating a pressure reduction in the drainage system (9,13). These suction means can be switched on and off at predetermined times using a time control. The suction means are designed to generate a pressure reduction of at least approximately 5 mbar, more particularly a pressure reduction in the range from 10 to 300 mbar. The bulk material (7) is in particular flue gas desulphurization gypsum. The invention also relates to the use of a storage container according to the invention for storing bulk material and/or for drying the bulk material in the storage container and/or drying a material in the storage container to form a bulk material. <IMAGE> |
