PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication system capable of making efficient wireless communication in a form of use desired by a user. SOLUTION: A user terminal 52-1 respectively transmits probe requests 63-1, 63-2 including index request information indicative of a request of a prescribed index to a corresponding access point 51-1 or 51-2. The access point 51-1 transmits a probe response 64-1 including an index corresponding to index request information included in a received probe request 63-1 and the access point 51-2 transmits a probe response 64-2 including an index corresponding to the index request information included in the received probe request 63-2 to the user terminal 52-1, respectively. The user terminal 52-1 compares the respective indices included in the received probe responses 64-1, 64-2 and selects an access point going to be used from now on the basis of the result of comparison.
