PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound suitable as a material for optical components such as lenses, prisms, waveguides and substrates, laminate materials, composite materials and electronic components. SOLUTION: A heterocycle-containing compound is represented by formula (I) (wherein R<SP>1</SP>-R<SP>4</SP>are each independently a single bond or a 1-10C divalent organic group; Y<SP>1</SP>and Y<SP>2</SP>are each independently O or S, provided that at least one of them is S; Z<SP>1</SP>and Z<SP>2</SP>are each independently a divalent organic group having a cyclic aliphatic hydrocarbon-containing group which may have a substituent, wherein the cyclic aliphatic hydrocarbon residues may be directly bound to R<SP>1</SP>-R<SP>4</SP>at their individual binding sites other than those bound to O; r is an integer of 0-10).
