<p>A modified silica support having a polar phase bound to its surface and suitable for use for chromatographic separations, having the following formula: (I); wherein, m = 0 - 20; n = 0 - 20; p =1 - 50; X is sulfonyl, carbonyl, carbamoyl, or oxycarbonyl; R1 = H, alkyl, substituted alkyl, aryl or substituted aryl groups; R2 = alkyl, substituted alkyl, aryl or substituted aryl groups; and R3 and R4 are alkyl, aryl, hydroxyl, or alkoxyl groups or groups including oxygen atoms cross-linked to silicon atoms.
