PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sludge treatment apparatus capable of obtaining a high dehydration effect by moving moisture in a sludge cake by electrophoresis so as to unevenly distribute the same and further providing separate water absorbing cloth to the outside of the water absorbing cloth on the side of a cathode. SOLUTION: In the sludge treatment apparatus for moving the moisture in a sludge cake by electrophoresis so as to unevenly distribute the same and sucking water by the water absorbing cloth on the side of the cathode to dehydrate the sludge cake, separate water absorbing cloth is laid outside an electrode on the side of the cathode separately from the water sucking cloths laid on both upper and rear surfaces in order to reduce the water content of the sludge cake. Separate water sucking cloth is laid on the outside of the water sucking cloth on the side of the cathode separately from the water sucking cloths laid on both upper and rear surfaces.
