PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To devise so as not to stain recording paper by dirt from the hands, and to prevent winding looseness and winding dislocation of the recording paper when setting the roll recording paper. SOLUTION: This recording paper holder 20 is detachably installed in a recording paper housing chamber 17 of a printer. An attachable-detachable cover 21 is arranged in the recording paper holder 20 for covering a part of the recording paper housing chamber 17. The attachable-detachable cover 21 is provided with holding grooves 27 and 28 for holding both end shafts of the roll recording paper, and a plate spring 29 for pressing down the outer periphery of the roll recording paper 18.
