PHOTODETECTOR AND APPARATUS FOR OPTICAL PICKUP HAVING THE SAME

An optical detector and an optical pickup device including the same are provided to improve compatibility between different optical recording media and remove inter-layer interference of disc and noise of reproduction/recording signal by using light sources emitting different wavelength. An optical detector(300) comprises a first detection unit(310) detecting the light of a first wavelength, a second detection unit(320) which crosses with the first detection unit and detects the light of a second wavelength, and the third detection unit(330) which is located to cross with the first detection unit and apart from the second detection unit and detects the light of a third wavelength. Each detection unit includes cells which detect 0-order, (-1)-order, and (+1)-order light of each wavelength light, respectively.
