The present invention provides a cleaner-less image forming apparatus comprising an image bearing member (1) for bearing an electrostatic image, an electrifying member (2) contacting and electrifying the image bearing member (1), voltage applying means (S1) for applying oscillation voltage to the electrifying member (2), image forming means (3) for forming an electrostatic image on the image bearing member (1), developing means (4) for developing the electrostatic image on the image bearing member (1) with toner to form a toner image, and transferring means (5) for transferring the toner image on the image bearing member (1) onto a transferring material (P), and wherein transferring residual toner on the image bearing member (1) is recovered by the developing means (4) after the toner is passed through an electrifying portion (9) for the electrifying member (2) and, regarding the oscillation voltage applied by the voltage applying means (51), a time (Tup) required for shifting from an electrifying polarity side peak to a reverse side peak is longer than a time (Tdown) required for shifting from the reverse side peak to the electrifying polarity side peak.
