PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate an unnecessary communication cost arising from increase in an amount of wasteful communication data and communication time since mail confirming the opening of mail is sent back even from a destination of the mail of which confirmation of the opening is not needed, which is due to the fact that in a system capable of sending e-mail of a pattern with a request for confirmation of the opening of mail, mail notifying the opening of the message is sent back from all the addressees who have opened the mail without exception when such an e-mail message is sent to a plurality of addressees at the same time. SOLUTION: The system is equipped with an address analyzing part 26 having a TO analyzing part 29 and is so composed that only in a case where there exists a mail address of the receiving computer in a TO column of the e-mail received, it returns mail confirming that the mail has been opened.
