<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid defects leading to errors in magnetic reading operation as a result of a non-contact area existing between a magnetic card and a magnetic head when a bent magnetic card is carried between the magnetic head of a magnetic card reader and a pinch roller, by a two-dimensional follow-up behavior of the magnetic head. <P>SOLUTION: The bent magnetic card MC is fed along a carrying passage 1 in the longitudinal direction B of the carrying passage perpendicular to its sheet surface and moved between the pinch roller 3 and the magnetic head 2.
