PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for forming and generating an image necessary for a user from data in www server selectively. SOLUTION: In a facsimile device 1, a URL access determination process is performed by CPU, and on the basis of the result of the process, the down load of data from a non-permitted access server is prohibited (Yes in S550). When the access is not prohibited, data is down-loaded from the URL (S560), an output permission determination process (S570) is carried out, and a key word retrieval, a history retrieval, and the like are implemented. When determining that there is an item not to be printed, a printing function is turned off by the CPU. In a printing performance determination process (S580), whether the data is adaptable to the printing performance for the device or not is determined. Then, an output process (S590) is carried out, and when the printing function is ON, the printing process is carried out and when the printing function is OFF, the printing process is skipped.
