The closure insert for the male urinary passage has an insertion tube with a diameter to allow insertion into the passage. The tube has an elastic thin-walled closure tube with a closed distal end and an open proximal end which is folded over the exterior of the insertion tube. The closure tube has a length to extend over the end of the insertion tube and is retained in the urethra by friction.
