EXHAUST EMISSION CONTROL DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology in which clogging of a filter is detected at an operation area in a wide range in an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine.

SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control device is provided with: a filter 5 temporarily capturing a particulate matter in an exhaust gas; a pressure detection means 7 for detecting at least an upstream pressure of the filter 5; an intake air amount detection means 3 for detecting an amount of fresh air suctioned to the internal combustion engine; and a clogging determination means 11 for determining a degree of clogging of the filter 5 by a value obtained by dividing the pressure detected by a pressure detection means 7 by an amount of the fresh air detected by the intake air amount detection means 3. The detection of the clogging of the filter 5 is carried out by values removing a fluctuation of the detection values of the pressure detection means 7 and the intake air amount detection means 3.
