PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for quickly and reliably inspecting leakage in a container. SOLUTION: The leakage-detecting apparatus has a pressure operating means for allowing pressure to operate on the inside of an inspecting container A whose leakage is to be inspected and a reference container X that is the same type as the inspecting container A and has no leakage; and a comparison judgement means 5 for detecting elastic waves generated from the inspecting container A and the reference container X, comparing the detected elastic wave, and judging whether leakage exists inside the container or not. In this case, pressure is allowed to operate on the inside of the inspecting container and the reference container X by the pressure operating means, and the elastic wave generated from the inspecting container A is compared with that generated from the reference container X by the comparison judgment means 5, thus detecting the leakage in the inspecting container A.
