<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus by which a developing carrier is prevented from sticking to a photoreceptor due to the potential difference between a photoreceptor and a developer carrier in the image forming apparatus adopting a cleanerness system. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus adopting the cleanerness system, AC bias is applied to an electrifying roller 2 with an electrifying auxiliary brush 12 provided on the upstream side from a photoreceptor drum 1 in the rotating direction out of several electrifying members while the electrified surface of the photoreceptive drum 1 electrified with a voltage value equal to or higher than a discharge threshold between the electrifying auxiliary brush 12 and the photoreceptive drum 1 passes the electrifying part of the electrifying roller 2 provided on the most downstream side of the photoreceptive drum 1 in the rotating direction. Thus, the photoreceptive drum 1 is discharged, and the potential difference between the photoreceptive drum 1 and a developing sleeve 4a is reduced, so that the developing carrier can be prevented from sticking to the photoreceptor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
