<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photopolymerization initiator having a high sensitivity and excellent shelf stability, and to provide a photosensitive composition containing the initiator. <P>SOLUTION: The photopolymerization initiator comprises (A) a sensitizing agent, (B) an organic boron complex having a specific structure, and (C) a multifunctional branched thiol having a branched structure at an α-position and/or a β-position to the thiol group.
