PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thickening-assisting pad having excellent permanent compressive strain characteristic and permanency while utilizing the useful characteristic of an urethane foam sponge. SOLUTION: The method for producing the thickening-assisting pad comprises preparing the continuously foaming urethane foam sponge (2) of a given shape having a first and second surfaces (2a and 2b) facing with each other. The method comprises a process of sticking an adhesive to the first and second surfaces of the urethane foam sponge (2), a process of impregnating a liquid silicone rubber into the urethane foam sponge, and a process of sticking cloths (3 and 4) to a surface on which the adhesive layer of the urethane foam sponge is formed, loading the product in a mold, and hot-press molding the product to form the desired thickening-assisting pad of a three dimensional shape. Molding the urethane foam sponge, vulcanizing the silicone rubber and sticking the cloth to the urethane foam sponge are each done at the same time during the hot-press molding.
