METHOD AND EQUIPMENT FOR ESTIMATING TEMPERATURE PROFILE OF WHOLE THICKNESS OF POLYMER PREFORM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and equipment for determining the temperature distribution in the whole thickness of a preform which are used in a reheating stretch blow molding method for manufacturing a vessel. SOLUTION: Within a period when the preform is made cool after it comes out from a heating station in a blow molding machine and before it enters a blow molding station, the outer surface temperature of the preform or an arrangement of the preforms is measured twice at least and the temperature distribution in the whole thickness of the preform is calculated on the basis of the measured outer surface temperature by using a novel algorithm. Thereby the temperature distribution of the whole thickness of the preform used for the vessel reheating stretch blow molding method is determined in the present method. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
