<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication system, of which the interrogator antenna and the responder can be installed easily, and which can receive an interrogation signal from the interrogator antenna with high reception sensitivity by the responder. <P>SOLUTION: A wireless tag 33 can transmit and receive a left-handed circularly polarized signal, in a predetermined left-handed circularly polarized directivity direction, and can transmit and receive a right-handed circularly polarized signal in a right-handed circularly polarized directivity direction opposite to the left-handed circularly polarized directivity direction, and can transmit and receive a linearly polarized signal in a linear polarized directivity direction cross to the left-handed circularly polarized directional direction and the right- handed circularly polarized directivity direction. Thus, since the wireless tag 33 has low directivity for signal transmission/reception and can also transmit and receive a circularly polarized signal, the degrees of freedom are high for arrangement of an interrogator antenna 32 and the wireless tag 33, hence, the wireless tag can receive a modulated interrogation signal with high reception sensitivity, using a plurality of arrangement states. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
