<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type projector system of a small size, light weight and low cost by putting the polarization state of a luminous flux in a crossed prism having a dichroic effect into the same polarization state, in the reflection on luminous flux, as that of the incident luminous flux on a reflection liquid crystal panel. <P>SOLUTION: A Faraday rotator of a Faraday rotating angle 45° is disposed on an optical path between a PBS and the crossed prism and a half wave plate having an axis of polarization rotating the angle of polarization of linearly polarized light 45° or 135° is disposed in an optical path just before or just behind the Faraday rotator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
