PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus whereby image data along with the intention of a photographer can be obtained by informing the photographer about part causing halation or black fullness in the image data. SOLUTION: The luminance of a part D whose luminance is a predetermined lower limit in image data displayed on a display means is replaced with a darker luminance to emphasize it. Figure (a) shows the image before the replacement and Figure (b) indicates the image after the replacement. Thus, the apparatus informs the photographer about the part whose luminance is the lower limit or below, that is, a black fullness part in the image data displayed on the display means.
