PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an onboard recorder which automatically performs the processing for preventing data recorded in the recorder inside a vehicle from being leaked to a third person in the case that a vehicle such as an automobile is stolen or an accident occurs. SOLUTION: An arithmetic means 127 sets the movement permission range of the vehicle from the information of a distance inputted from an input means 125 and compares the present location of the vehicle detected in a location detection means 130 with the movement permission range. When the movement of the vehicle to the outside of the movement permission range is detected, an information transmission/reception means 124 transmits the detection information to portable information terminal equipment 12b carried by a user and a control means 128 performs the processing of deleting the data recorded in a data recoding means 121 or the like for instance in order to prevent the data recorded in the data recording means 121 from being leaked to the third person.
