PURPOSE: A telemetry system in dead ground and a method thereof are provided to have high reliability and efficiency when acquiring telemetry data by installing a wired repeater in the dead ground and relaying a radio wave to a non-dead ground by wire. CONSTITUTION: A digital meter reader(100) has a wireless communication device(200) for being installed in each consumption house, detecting a used energy quantity, and transmitting and receiving the detected data by wireless. A wired repeater(300) has a CPU for processing a signal transmitted from the digital meter reader(100), and a communication device for transmitting the processed signal to the outside by wire. A wireless transmitting and receiving device(400) has a communication device for receiving data from the wired repeater(300) through wire and transmitting the received data through a wireless public network.
