PURPOSE: A system and a method are provided to reduce operating costs of air conditioner, while lengthening the service life of the air conditioner and shortening the recovery time upon occurrence of error. CONSTITUTION: A system comprises an information transmitting/receiving unit(18) for transmitting an operating state information to a remote plate through a communication network or receiving a management or schedule information of an air conditioner from a remote place; a microcomputer(13) for controlling an overall operation of the air conditioner by detecting the operating state information by controlling an information detection unit(16) in accordance with a predetermined program, storing the detected information in an information storing unit(17), displaying the operating state on an operating state display unit(15) or transmitting the information to a remote place through the information transmitting/receiving unit, storing the management or schedule information in the information storing unit and outputting the information; and a remote monitoring unit(11) for monitoring the operating state of the air conditioner in accordance with the operating state information received through the communication network, and allowing for a modification or re-setting of the management or schedule information preset in the air conditioner by transmitting the optimum schedule information to the air conditioner through the communication network.
