PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-component developing device capable of stirring a developer and suppressing the local flocculation of the developer, without requiring a special driving system and increasing the scale of a device. SOLUTION: The developing device is constituted so that a sliding groove 9 which is consecutive in a rotational direction (the direction ofθ), while being meandered in an axial direction (the direction of Z) is constituted to make the position of a start. (a) coincident with that of the end (b), in the inner periphery 12 of a developer carrying sleeve 2, a developer stirring magnet piece 10 whose thickness is larger than the groove depth of the sliding groove 9 is engaged with it, to be arranged and magnet piece slide regulating members 11 whose length in the axial direction of the sleeve is longer than the meandering width of the sliding groove are arranged to face each other on the upstream and downstream sides in the rotational direction of the sleeve, of the magnet piece 10. Thus, the magnet piece 10 repeats reciprocation in the axial direction by the meandering of the sliding groove in the inner periphery of the sleeve, in accordance with the rotation of the sleeve, so that the local fluctuation of a magnetic force gradient in the axial direction is imparted evenly in the axial direction, to stir the developer.
