PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a mark-cutting cutter, for example, of a corrugate machine for manufacturing a corrugated cardboard sheet, i.e., the problem of the erroneous detection or non-detection of a mark or the location of the same, resulting in the defective cutting or incapability of cutting of a target location. SOLUTION: There is provided a new image pickup method for an object to be detected. By the method, the object to be detected, which has been printed or marked by predetermined treatment on a continuous sheet or flat sheet fed from a feeder, is photographed by an object detecting means. Therefore, serial image pickup is carried out such that part of the downstream end of the picked-up image of the continuous sheet or the flat sheets in a feeding direction overlaps part of the upstream end of the subsequently picked-up image with respect to a desired area.
