PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die material for plate press-forming in warm forming or hot forming excellent in agglutination resistance and die galling resistance. SOLUTION: The die material for plate press-forming in warm forming or hot forming is used when plate press-forming is performed under the condition that the temperature of the material to be worked is 400°C or higher and 1,100°C or less, and is characterized in that a nitride layer of 20μm or more is formed on the surface of a structural alloy steel which is the die material, an alloy tool steel or a high-speed tool steel, and a CrN layer of 1μm or more is formed on the surface. Further, the CrN layer of 4μm or more where oxygen of 3 to 20 wt.% is solid-solved is formed on the surface, and the surface roughness of the CrN layer where oxygen which is an utmost surface is solid-solved is 2μm or less in Rz.
