PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of detecting insertion/removal of a connector capable of optimally eliminating noise while adjusting the degree of filtering according to the generation of the noise, using simple structure. SOLUTION: When a PINT<SB>-</SB>USBN signal entered into an interface 10 when a printer is connected to a personal computer is synchronized, and is entered into a PINT<SB>-</SB>COUNTER 3a as a sync<SB>-</SB>PINT signal, the PINT<SB>-</SB>COUNTER 3a starts counting a clock, and an interrupting signal is entered into a CPU 20 when the count value reaches a connection recognition value.
